The origin of Aleppo soap is not quite verified, but it is said to have been used by Egypt’s Queen Cleopatra and Siria’s Queen Zenobia.  Our Aleppo contains 35% Laurel Berry Oil.  It has a VERY distinct aroma.  Sort of medicinal but pleasant.  We do list it in the Unscented and Fragrance Free Categories because there isn’t anything added as a fragrance.  Laurel Berry Oil is extremely pungent on it’s own.  Combined with 70% Extra Virgin Olive Oil decreases the pungent smell down to a softer medicinal scent.  We just want to be honest if you are not familiar with it.    Here’s the really great stuff about Aleppo soap.  It can be used daily for washing and shampooing, as a face mask, as shaving cream, and for bathing infants and babies.  Laurel Oil is an effective cleaner, antimicrobial, anti-fungal, and anti-itching agent.   You will feel the cleanest you have ever been!

About:  All our soaps are hand-crafted right here at Hammock Bay Soap studio in Pensacola, Florida.  We make it in very small batches so each bar can get the love and attention it deserves.  After the soap “batter” is poured into wooden molds it is covered with cozy blankets.  Over the next 24-48 hours it goes through the saponification process and transforms into beautiful soap.  We like to say the soap is sleeping and cannot be disturbed during that time.  After the magic has occurred and it is now soap, we unmold it, hand-cut each bar one at a time, and inspect each one.  They are then lined up on curing racks and allowed to quietly rest over the next 6-8 weeks.  Whew!  Then finally, each bar is inspected yet again, hand-wrapped and prepared to embark on their journey to their new homes.

Sea Salt Hand Scrubs are freshly made to order.  They are not sitting around on shelves.  They all contain a natural preservative.

Weight:  Approximately 4.0+ oz.  Please note that all our soaps are hand-cut so actual weight may vary slightly to your advantage!  They are often higher in weight than what is listed!

To Use:  Keep your soaps in a dry, ventilated area when not in use.  You can help them last far longer by creating this perfect environment.  You may wish to purchase a wooden soap rack to help with this process.
