After getting diagnosed wiyh Type 2 Diabetes I discovered that a Plant-Based lifestyle can reverse the disease in most cases. I embarked on this new journey and lost nearly 100 pounds. It was an entire lifestyle change. In addition to what I ate, I had to deal with food cravings, finding energy to workout, lowering stress and anxiety, and get restful sleep. Even if you just need to lose 20 pounds, it can seem overwhelming. I happened to see an article about how aromatherapy can help with weight loss. In my google searches I found excellent research-backed articles which led me to begin using my own products and formulating new ones to help me. First I will state I am NOT making any claims that my products will cause you to lose weight or keep it off. I’m sharing what works for me. And that they might also help you. As with any weight loss program you need to consult with your physician. All the essential oils are used in the products. Nothing is consumed. But even for topical use you need to consult with your physician/healthcare provider prior to using anything containing essential oils.
There are 4 main categories associated with weight loss and the essential oils to help with each one:
- Appetite Suppression – Grapefruit, Lemon, Peppermint
- Mood Enhancement – Rosemary, Clary Sage, Lavender, Bergamot, Ylang-Ylang, Eucalyptus, Jasmine,
- Energy Boost – Orange, Lime, Eucalyptus,
- Stress Reduction – Lavender, Chamomile, Frankincense, Sandalwood, Fennel, Rosemary,
I compiled my “toolbox” of soaps, body butters, and candles with the specific essential oils to help me with each category. I formulate all my soap and body care products. I handcraft items based on documented research, and I added one of my own. ZEN. I formulated ZEN to be a meditative, calming fragrance that everyone loves.
Here’s everything that helps me with losing weight and maintaining it off! When I’m craving something I will instead reach for one of my products in the Appetite Suppression category. When I’m feeling a bit down I’ll get a Mood Enhancing product. If I’m looking to get energized it will be some Eucalyptus Lime soap or body butter to rev me up! And to help reduce stress and anxiety, something ZEN is my first choice! Whether it’s a bar of soap, a body butter, or a candle, all I need to do is start sniffing! Inhale slowly and deeply, close your eyes, and let those essential oils start doing their thing!
